News: Scott Haze Joins The Cast Of Venom




Scott Haze has joined the cast of Sony's upcoming comic book film Venom. He is be joining the already cast Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Jennie Slate, Reid Scott, and Riz Ahmed. There are currently no details regarding what character Haze will be playing. He is best known for his appearances in Midnight Special and The Vault. His recent credits also include Only the Brave, Thank You for Your Service, Tenn, and The Institute.

Tom Hardy stars as Eddie Brock AKA Venom, the original host of the alien Venom symbiote and one of Spider-man's popular supervillains in the comics. Ahmed is playing an unknown character, it was initially believed that he would be playing the arch nemesis Carnage. Sony has since shot down those rumors. Williams will be playing a district attorney and a possible love interest for Hardy. It is believed that the character may be Anne Weying, who was Eddie Brock's (Venom) wife in the comics and eventually came into contact with the symbiote to become She-Venom. Slate is playing a scientist, with nothing else known at this time about her character. Veep actor Reid Scott also recently joined the cast in an unspecified role.

Venom is being written by Scott Rosenberg (Jumanji) and Jeff Pinkner (The Dark Tower), it will be directed by Ruben Fleischer, and is being produced by Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, Palak Patel, and Eric Fineman. Sony has said that this will be a standalone film and will not play a part in the Spider-Man universe.
