Rumor Mill: VTV: V For Vendetta Television Series

Comics adapted to television are the big thing right now. As we've all learned from The Walking Dead and the numerous Marvel series over at Netflix, comic books are not only destined to continue raking in the dough at movie theaters. They're one of the most steady trends in televised viewing right now. With that said, Bleeding Cool is reporting tonight that V For Vendetta may be getting a new treatment that will adapt the story for the smaller screen.

Alan Moore's work was previously turned into the live action film that was produced by the Wachowskis and directed by James McTeigue. Although many fans of the comic were not huge fans of the movie, it would be a great twist to see this story get a much larger scope in our current political climate. The original featured Hugo Weaving and Natalie Portman in the lead roles but was obviously shortened to fit the construct of a movie. If adapted to television, these characters and their stories could be much more fleshed out.

Moore's other popular work, Watchmen has been ordered to series by HBO. V For Vendetta might not be too far behind.
