News: CBS All Access Officially Orders Twilight Zone Reboot




We had previously learned that CBS was developing a reboot ot the Twilight Zone series, now CBS All Access has officially handed out a series order. There is no episode or premier date at this time. Marco Ramirez (Daredevil) will be the  showrunnermfor the series. It will be produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions and Simon Kinberg’s Genre Films. Peele, Kinberg and Ramirez will executive produce for the series and collaborate on the premiere episode, with Win Rosenfeld and Audrey Chon also serving as executive producers. Peele said:

 “Too many times this year it’s felt we were living in a twilight zone, and I can’t think of a better moment to reintroduce it to modern audiences.” 

The original ran from 1959 to 1964 with several attempts to revitalize it for television. Two revisits were made in the late '80s and early '00s. Both failed to spark. There was also the ill fated Twilight Zone: The Movie which featured bits from several big name directors.
