News: FOX Halts Production on Bryan Singer Queen Biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody Starring Rami Malek

For years, fans of Queen have been waiting for a great biopic about Freddie Mercury and the legendary band. Through the last five or so years we've all been teased with a Queen film that would have starred Sacha Baron Cohen as the singer. After quite some time, the project stalled and was reignited with Rami Malek (Mr. Robot) starring and Bryan Singer behind the camera as director. Now it appear that the film has stalled in the production phase. Numerous photos have been released of Malek as Mercury, which looked great. But now, the project in dire trouble.

Due to the "unexpected unavailability" of Mr. Singer, FOX has put an official hold on finishing the movie. Numerous sites and reports are stating that Singer never returned to the set citing "a personal health matter" but that's apparently not the case. Reportedly, Singer and Malek have been clashing on set, which may have spawned Singer's departure from the project. The future of Bohemian Rhapsody now lies in flux as the producers are discussing the replacement of Singer altogether.

Not to add fuel to the fire, but with dozens of sexual allegations related to Singer, it would not be surprising if in the current climate, he was removed or replaced in the same way as so many other Hollywood power players.
