News: The Fans Cried Out In Joy: Star Wars 'Legends' Being Introduced Into Canon

In what was one of the most distressing parts of the Disney purchase of Lucasfilm, the Star Wars Expanded Universe was re-branded as Legends, removing all the characters out of the main canon of the franchise. Now, there is a ray of light. No. It's not a re-release of the original trilogy in its initial form. But it's another big piece of news that will have the hardcore followers of the galaxy far, far away chomping at the bit for more.

A member of the elite Story Group has let on that they're planning on bringing many of those characters back into the universe. Right after Ron Howard announced that Tag and Bink will be featured in the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story, Leland Chee tweeted:

You wouldn’t believe some of the Legends characters that will be cropping up in various media in the coming months. Hey, if Tag & Bink can show up, ANYthing is possible.

The initial decision to close the Expanded Universe left behind decades of great stories, villains like Grand Admiral Thrawn, and plot points that directly effected the entire franchise. It looks like the new version of Lucasfilm is ready to bring back much of what they abandoned.

The fans cried out in joy.
