News: Tim Blake Nelson Set To Direct The Sci-Fi Action Film Michael Zero



Well known character actor Tim Blake Nelson (O Brother Where Art Thou) is to direct the sci-fi action film Michael Zero for Millennium Media and Eclectic Pictures. First reported by Deadline, it is based on a spec script from Adam Alleca (Last House on the Left). 

This will be Nelson’s third collaboration with Millennium Media, previously  directing and co-starring in the 2009 pot comedy Leaves of Grass with Edward Norton and the 2001 war drama The Grey Zone starring Harvey Keitel and Steve Buscemi. His other directing credits includean episode of Z: The Beginning of Eveything, Anesthesia, Haskett's Choice, O, the short film Kansas, and Eye of God

The film is being described as a high-concept sci-fi action-thriller that follows Michael Redmayne, who must hunt down and kill his clones after they desert the war that they were created to fight, so they could wage their own war against the Corporate State that made them. 

 Eclectic Pictures’ founder Heidi Jo Markel and Millennium Media’s Mat O’Toole are producing. Millennium’s Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, Boaz Davidson, Jeffrey Greenstein, Jonathon Yunger, Vincent Cheng and Conor Charles (via Eclectic) are serving as executive producers. Cem Gursel and John Yarincik will be co-producing for Eclectic. 

 Michael Zero is the first of a multi-picture producing deal for Markel’s Eclectic Pictures that includes Angel Has Fallen, Hunter Killer and The Bricklayer. It is not know at this time if Nelson will also co-star in Michael Zero, he is set to play the main role of Joel and Ethan Coen’s TV mini-series The Ballad of Buster Scruggs.
