News: A24 Makes Plans To Re-Team With Hereditary Director On Next Horror Film

Hereditary hasn't even hit theaters yet and A24 is already making plans to work with the director again. They are set to re-team with Hereditary helmer Ari Aster to produce and fully finance his next untitled horror project. First reported by Deadline, the film is expected to begin filming sometime around late summer/early fall 2018. This will also be A24's biggest production to date. Lars Knudsen and B Reel will also produce.

The only thing that we know so far is that the film follows a young woman who reluctantly joins her boyfriend on a summer trip where things quickly go awry. A24 is currently in process of casting the film.

Hereditary is for a wide theatrical release on June 8th and stars Toni Collette, Gabrielle Byrne, Alex Wolff, and Milly Shapiro.
It generated a ton of buzz at Sundance, where many called it the scariest film in years.

“When Ellen, the matriarch of the Graham family, passes away, her daughter’s family begins to unravel cryptic and increasingly terrifying secrets about their ancestry. The more they discover, the more they find themselves trying to outrun the sinister fate they seem to have inherited. Making his feature debut, writer-director Ari Aster unleashes a nightmare vision of a domestic breakdown that exhibits the craft and precision of a nascent auteur, transforming a familial tragedy into something ominous and deeply disquieting, and pushing the horror movie into chilling new terrain with its shattering portrait of heritage gone to hell.”
