News: Lupita Nyong’o Joins Cast Of Jordan Peele's Us

Last week Jordan Peele unveiled a title and a poster for his next movie, which is called Us. Lupita Nyong’o (Black Panther) was also in negotiations to play one of the leads in the cast. Today, Nyong’o has confirmed her role, modified art that now includes her name.

The film is said to center on two couples, one white, one black.

If all of the negotiations go through, Winston Duke (Black Panther) and Lupita Nyong’o would play one couple, and Elisabeth Moss would play half of the other couple.

Peele is both writing and directing the feature, which is being called a social thriller that is based on one of Peele's original ideas. Lupita Nyong’o is in talks to star, with Winston Duke and Elisabeth Moss circling the project as well. Peele is producing US via his Monkeypaw Productions with Ian Cooper alongside Sean McKittrick and Jason Blum.

Us is the first film in Monkeypaw’s first-look production deal with Universal. Peele will also produce a wide range of films for the studio including several micro-budgeted projects on which he will partner with Blum.
The film is scheduled to be released on March 15, 2019.
