Rumor Mill: Plot Details For Masters Of The Universe Movie Revealed

With the Nee brothers now tapped to helm the Masters of the Universe movie, some plot details may have surfaced. The Hashtag Show managed to get their hands on character breakdowns for the film, along with some early plot details.

These plot details note that Skeletor and He-Man may actually be brothers in this version of Masters of the Universe; previous storylines have tied the two together with a family bond, with Skeletor being revealed as the brother of He-Man’s father. The site continues, saying that:

“Our source has indicated to us that in the upcoming film, King Randor will be presented as the great warrior-king of Eternia, a descendant of the Grayskulls, and the father of two sons: Adam and Keldor! As the film begins, Keldor is the chosen heir to the throne and his brother, Adam, is young, unfit and a bit of a black sheep. Where Adam’s relationship with his father is strained, Keldor is the epitome of a perfect son, beloved by his father…until the fate of Eternia is put on the line. With his kingdom on the line, Randor puts his people first, betraying Keldor, inciting the series of events that leads to him becoming the iconic Skeletor!”

They continue, “The film will follow the meek and uncertain Adam as he assembles a group of heroes to take on his fallen brother and his collection of cronies. As you might expect, some familiar faces will be joining Adam in the fight.”

The character breakdowns suggest that Man-at-Arms, Zodak, Teela, Orko, Stratos, Beast Man, Trap Jaw and Evil-Lyn will be featured in the film.

Aaron and Adam Nee took over directing duties for David S. Goyer (Blade: Trinity, The Unborn), who was originally brought on by Sony to write and direct the new live action feature film that would bring the He-Man universe back to prominence. Their previous credit was the 2015 indie thriller Band of Robbers.

Goyer wrote the script and is serving as executive producer, and is said to still be extremely involved despite stepping down as director. The film is scheduled to be released on December 18, 2019.
