Today, there are two new teaser videos and for Halloween, ahead of the trailer's release on Friday. USA Today previously released some new plot details about the film.
“A British documentary crew comes to the States to visit Michael in prison for a retrospective of the maniac’s night of terror — but their project becomes way more interesting when Myers escapes custody, retrieves his signature mask and seeks revenge on Laurie, with others naturally being part of his impressive career body count along the way.
In the decades following the fateful Halloween night that forever altered the former babysitter’s life, Laurie has armed and prepped herself for Michael’s inevitable return — to the detriment of her family, including daughter Karen (Judy Greer) and granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak).”
Nick Castle will be returning to play Michael Myers in Halloween. He played the original masked killer known as "The Shape" in John Carpenters' original film. James Jude Courtney has also been cast to play the role of Michael Myers, said to be taking on the more physically challenging parts. Additionally, make-up and VFX artist Christopher Nelson (Suicide Squad, Deadpool, the Kill Bill films) is also on board.
Danny McBride and David Gordon Green co-wrote the script, with Green directing and John Carpenter serving as an executive producer and possibly composing the score. It is being produced by Trancas International Films, Blumhouse Productions, and Miramax. Malek Akkad is producing for Trancas and Jason Blum is producing for Blumhouse. Universal Pictures will release the film on October 19, 2018.
“Laurie Strode comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.”
