With last weekend's record breaking haul for Halloween (2018), we should all be expecting to see reboots, relaunches, and remakes coming from numerous major horror brands. Considering it's been so extremely successful, production companies are going to latch on to this with everything they've got. Now, comes word that LeBron James (yes, that one) has begun discussions to take over the Friday the 13th saga and reboot it once again. James and his Springhill Entertainment are already attached to the upcoming Space Jam sequel. They're in talks with Vertigo Entertainment to produce another total reboot of Friday the 13th.
LeBron James has made his love for horror and the Jason Voorhees character known over the years via Twitter and numerous social media outlets. Bloody Disgusting first broke the news this morning. While there are many naysayers, we have to remember that producers are there to provide the financial backing for the film. With James behind it and a great director with new ideas, this could finally work.
