News: Despite Financial Failure of Solo, Ron Howard Open To Directing More Star Wars

I think by by now, most of us can agree that Solo: A Star Wars Story wasn't given a fair shake. Months before the film was even released, fans were rallying against the project and became quite heated over the movie, with the divisive The Last Jedi helping fuel that fire. Honestly, even I was not behind another actor taking over the role of Han Solo. Yet, upon release many were shocked at how great the movie turned out even after the removal of Phil Lord and Chris Miller as co-directors. They were kicked off the film due to creative differences with Star Wars head, Kathleen Kennedy.

Now, half a year after Solo became a financial flop in its cinematic run, Ron Howard seems to still be open to work in that galaxy. When speaking with Metro, Howard says he'd be open to directing another Star Wars movie and also voiced his excitement about his daughter working on The Mandalorian:

"I had a great experience with that. It would depend entirely on the story."

He continued:

"My daughter Bryce is thrilled. She’s been announced to be directing one of the new episodes of the series headed by Jon Favreau. She’s having a great experience. So I’m kind of living through it again through her. It’s just a creative, inspired group of movie lovers who make those projects."
