After the Amazing Spider-Man franchise starring Andrew Garfield failed to ignite the box office, Sony's plans for a Sinister Six movie were halted. Now, it appears that the idea is once again brewing as producer Amy Pascal says they're reviving the project.
Considering the box office success of Venom and the critical fanfare over Into the Spider-Verse, this really comes as no shock. The brand is in better shape than it's been in a while (not that it's ever been a failure), but fan demand is huge right now and Pascal is ready to get the project going again. With sequels to Venom and Spider-Verse in the early stages and the Jared Leto led Morbius The Living Vampire in production, it's not doubt that their Sinister Six is not far behind. And she says she wants director Drew Goddard back aboard the film:
