Mel Gibson continues to rebuild on his acting career with a starring role in a new dark comedy called Fatman. With recent movies like Dragged Across Concrete and Daddy's Home 2, Gibson still runs the gamut in his choices of characters. Now, he'll join the ranks of numerous other actors that have played Mr. Claus when he takes on the part of Santa in the new movie by creators Ian and Eshom Nelms. Their other credits include smaller indie films like Lost on Purpose, Waffle Street, and the thriller Small Town Crime.
The film is in early development at this stage and has no production start date set yet. The writers/directors will be optioning the project when the Cannes Film Festival kicks off in France. Danny McBride, Jody Hill, and David Gordon Green are all on board as executive producers for the project.
