Any other day of the week, we might say that the joke is on us. But the news cycle this last couple days has been crazy with amazing casting news. As the new upcoming Matrix sequel starts to ramp up towards final scripting and production, the casting is fully underway. Now, it's been reported via Variety that Neil Patrick Harris has officially joined the cast of the sequel that will see the return of Neo, Morpheus, and Trinity into the massive franchise that launched back in the late '90s. At this point they're calling it a secret role and haven't revealed any details about his upcoming character.
Neil Patrick Harris obviously starred in another great science fiction film, the original Starship Troopers. Now, it looks like he'll be taking the red pill and heading down the rabbit hole into The Matrix. Lana Wachowski is returning to helm the latest entry while Laura Wachowski sits this one out.
