No matter how you feel about the last two Matrix movies, the next entry in the franchise is moving full steam ahead. With very few details known about the latest sequel, casting is still happening as the film continues production. Initially delayed due to the ongoing pandemic, Lana Wachowski is currently filming The Matrix 4 with returning cast members Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Annie Moss. There has been no plot revealed quite yet and no marketing has been released for the film but it looks like they've got a new cast member. That's right. Christina Ricci has boarded the film in what is estimated as a support role.
Ricci and Wachowski previously worked on the live action Speed Racer movie together. Although that movie was a box office disaster, it's gone on to gain a large cult following. The Matrix 4 was initially scheduled to release on May 21, 2021 but has been pushed to December 21, 2021 due to the consistent delays caused by COVID-19.
We'll update as we hear more about the movie and who she might be playing in the film.
