News: Star Trek: Discovery Renewed For Second Season




CBS All Access has announced that Star Trek: Discovery has been renewed for a second season. Discovery set subscriber records for CBS All Access, including total sign-ups in one day, a week, and a month. Marc DeBevoise, President and Chief Operating Officer of CBS Interactive said that:

"In just six episodes, Star Trek: Discovery has driven subscriber growth, critical acclaim and huge global fan interest for the first premium version of this great franchise. This series has a remarkable creative team and cast who have demonstrated their ability to carry on the Star Trek legacy. We are extremely proud of what they’ve accomplished and are thrilled to be bringing fans a second season of this tremendous series." 

The 15 episode season one is being split into two parts. Part one will run  through November 12, with the second half resuming in January 2018. The cast of season one features Jason Isaacs, The Walking Dead actress Sonequa Martin-Green, Doug Jones, Shazad Latif, James Frain, Anthony Rapp, Michelle Yeoh, Terry Serpico, Maulik Pancholy, and Sam Vartholomeos.
