While the world is still reeling from the continued global pandemic, Phil Lord and Chris Miller have picked up a brand new project. The pair have picked up directorial duties on a new thriller, Premonition: A Pandemic Story. Universal Pictures has optioned the screen rights to the novel that just hit shelves last week. The book by Michael Lewis chronicles the beginnings of the COVID-19 breakout and how woefully the U.S. government handled the initial response. The story follows three primary characters including a biochemist, a federal employee, and a health worker that work in the White House during the first days of the health emergency.

Early comparisons say the story is similar to All The Presidents Men and will be mainly focused on those that risked all to attempt to get the pandemic under control. This will be a new realm for the directing pair who are mainly known for projects like the 21 Jump Street films, The Lego Movie, and were removed from Solo: A Star Wars Story by Kathleen Kennedy. The politics and science of COVID may be something new and different for them to change things up.

There is no release date as of this post but we'll let you know as we hear more!!! Mask up!
