Molly Parker has been officially cast as the lead female role in the Lost in Space Netflix television series.
The actress will portray Maureen Robinson, described as "a fearless and brilliant aerospace engineer who makes the decision to bring her family to space for a chance at a new life on a better world." The character was originally played by June Lockhart in the television show that ran from 1965 through 1968. She was played by Mimi Rogers in the 1998 film adaptation. Parker is joining a cast that currently features Toby Stephens as John Robinson, Maxwell Jenkins as Will Robinson, and Taylor Russell as Judy Robinson. She is best known for appearing in Deadwood and Dexter.
The ten episode series is expected to debut on Netflix sometime in 2018.
