Rumor Mill: Chris Evans Will Reportedly Be Done With Captain America After Infinity War

Chris Evans time as Captain America is most likely coming to an end.

Evans signed a six picture deal with Marvel initially and that will be fulfilled after the completion of Avengers: Infinity War. The current indications are that he won't be returning once filming is finished. A recent profile by Esquire had the actor discussing his desire to move on to other passion projects and less physically demanding roles. In it, he states:

"Settling in on the couch, he groans. Evans explains that he’s hurting all over because he just started his workout routine the day before to get in shape for the next two Captain America films. The movies will be shot back to back beginning in April. After that, no more red- white-and-blue costume for the thirty-five-year-old. He will have fulfilled his contract."

This was inevitable and for many not very surprising. At some point, he was going to retire he role. At least Marvel has a backlog of comic book history in which various characters have donned the Captain America moniker. They already have several to choose from that are currently in the mix and could even bring in someone else.
