Demian Bichir has been cast in New Line's upcoming horror film The Nun.

It is a spinoff of The Conjuring 2, featuring the demonic nun character from that film. It will be directed by Corin Hardy (The Hallow), written by James Wan (directed both Conjuring movies) and Gary Dauberman (IT, Annabelle), and produced by Wan, and Peter Safran (produced both Conjuring films). Bechir has appeared in The Hateful Eight, A Better Life, and will next be seen in Alien: Covenant.
This is the next logical step for New Line and the continuation of The Conjuring franchise. So far there has been two Conjuring films, and the spinoff to The Conjuring titled Annabelle. All have been extremely successful, earning far more than each picture's modest budget. Annabelle 2 has already been filmed and is set to be released later this year. The Nun is scheduled to be released on Friday July 13, 2018.
