News: Labyrinth Sequel Taps Fede Alvarez To Direct

It's been decades since the first Labyrinth was in theaters. It's been a huge cult hit ever since and has received numerous editions for the home video market. Now, years later the film is getting an official sequel. Tri-Star is preparing to give the world that Jim Henson created an updated part two that will be scripted by Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy).

No word has been leaked about casting or where the story will take us, but Don't Breathe director Fede Alvarez has been tapped to direct the upcoming film. Alvarez is already set to direct The Girl in the Spider's Web and this will serve as his follow up project. Early reports are saying that this will be a totally separate story from the first and won't have anything to do with the characters portrayed by Jennifer Connelly and David Bowie in the original film.
