News: Pennywise Returns: IT Sequel Gets Official Release Date

The release of IT has catapulted horror to the mainstream and has once again proven that strong storytelling can outperform nearly any big budget blockbuster. The Stephen King adaptation has gone on to record setting numbers, becoming the biggest horror film of all time as adjusted for inflation against The Exorcist. Unlike many other genre films, this one has audiences coming back in droves to experience the film multiple times. The child stars of the movie are all excellent as Bill Skarsgard's performance as Pennywise set a new level for the evil clown.

Now, the sequel has finally received a release date from the studio. With the movie continuing to a massive domestic take of $266.1 million and a global box office of $478.1 million, it's already recouped its budget ten times over. Director Andy Muschietti is all but signed on to return. Part two just picked up a release date of September 6th, 2019 and will hit all theaters including IMAX.

We cannot wait. We really want to float again!
