Box Office News: Thor Hammers Another Weekend

Marvel's latest lone Avenger movie is proving to be a massive success. After two rather mediocre Thor entries, the son of Odin and a galactic band of heroes has risen to the top of the box office once again. Ousting this weekend's two big releases of Daddy's Home 2 and Murder on the Orient Express, the Asgardian went on to make another $56.6 million domestically with Ragnarok. In less than a full two weeks at the cinema, Thor has already grossed $211 million. This is another massive success for Marvel and Disney.

I'm so happy right now!

Coming in second place is the Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell comedy with a huge lump sum of $30 million, a great take for a lower budget comedy that will undoubtedly spin another sequel. In third place is the real shocker. Kenneth Branagh's new take on Murder on the Orient Express rallied with $28.8 million. No one was sure how this would fare at the box office but it seems to be doing pretty great.

In the fourth spot was A Bad Mom's Christmas with another $11 million. Rounding out the top five is the absolutely mediocre Jigsaw with $3.42 million.
