As we had expected, Disney plans on continuing to churn out Star Wars movies well after Episode IX. With the massive successes of The Force Awakens and Rogue One, the company is looking at the future and doesn't plan on stopping any time soon. As we all know, there's the upcoming Han Solo spin off and many other projects that are being planned for the biggest sci-fi fantasy brand in the galaxy. Today, word is breaking that the newest incarnation won't end after the ninth entry.
Reportedly, Kathleen Kennedy and her story group are working on new ways to keep the series going with Rey, Finn, and Poe being given more expansion after the supposed Skywalker storyline finally concludes. While some will call this more franchise milking (me too), there is no doubt that Disney is going to get every penny out of Star Wars for years to come.
May the Force be with you. Always.
