In what looks to be a massive but positively expected feat, the latest Avengers movie is nearly set to knock The Force Awakens from its spot as the biggest opener ever. The newest Marvel movie is looking to nab a huge $250 million tally in its opening weekend. It's not set in stone yet as final numbers are not quite in. It would need to clear a hurdle of $247.5 million to beat the Star Wars movie. With ten years leading up to this event film, it wouldn't be shocking in the slightest.
The film made $105.9 million on Friday alone, with and additional $39 million from Friday sneak previews. This movie will be a massive financial juggernaut for Disney and Marvel. In time, it may pass the total grosses for Black Panther and The Force Awakens.
