Tomorrow marks the 30th anniversary of the cult classic fantasy adventure Willow, which first premiered in theaters on May 20, 1988. As with any Lucasfilm project, there is an overwhelming of concept art that was created. Many of the ideas and designs would never be used, but they are stunning creations from a variety of artists. Not only are the beautiful to look at, but they also give us an idea of different ways that the film could have gone stylistically. One of the artists that contributed concept art was the well-known French illustrator Jean “Moebius” Giraud, whose whose phenomenal work included Blueberry, The Incal, and Arzach. He also did storyboards and concept designs films such as Alien, Tron, Fifth Element, and the Abyss.
