News: New Photos & Official Release Date For Suspiria Remake

Amazon has revealed an official release date along with two new photos for Suspiria. The film, which hails from Amazon Studios, Videa and Guadagnino’s Frenesy Films, will be getting a Fall 2018 theatrical release in Italy courtesy of Videa. Amazon will be releasing it theatrically on November 2nd.

The site notes, “The Suspiria redo, which is completing post, is tipped for a launch from the Venice Film Festival in September. Amazon will be allowed to put it on its Amazon Prime platform in Italy after a five-month window.”

The star of the original Suspiria has seen the remake and provided her thoughts on it. Jessica Harper, who starred in the 1977 original, took to her Facebook page and revealed her thoughts on what she says is a very scary film. she said that:

“I have seen this movie–the most brilliantly scary film I have ever seen,” the actress shared. “[Director] Luca Guadagnino’s Call Me By Your Name does not prepare you for it, but throws into relief the director’s brilliance and versatility…”   

Directed by Luca Guadagnino, it is based on Dario Argento's classic 1977 film and stars Dakota Johnson, Chloe Grace Moretz and Tilda Swinton.

“A young American ballet dancer travels to a prestigious dance academy in Europe, only to discover it is something far more sinister and supernatural. She becomes increasingly terrified after a series of gruesome murders ensue and she slowly unravels the dark history of the academy.”
