News: Samuel Goldwyn Films Acquires Night Comes On




Samuel Goldwyn Films announced today that the company has acquired North American rights to Jordana Spiro’s Night Comes On after its successful Sundance premiere. Winner of Sundance NEXT Innovator Prize, Jordana Spiro has received high praise for her directorial debut, and the film is an incredible showcase for the film debut performances of Dominque Fishback (who has received praise for her portrayal of Darlene in HBO’s The Deuce) and 10 year old newcomer Tatum Marilyn Hall, along with Max Casella (Jackie) and John Earl Jelks (A MIRACLE AT ST. ANNA). Night Comes On explores the impact of family trauma, foster care and juvenile detention through a powerful and visceral drama about sisterhood. The film is slated for a summer 2018 Theatrical release. 

Angel LaMere is released from juvenile detention on the eve of her 18th birthday. Haunted by her past, Angel embarks on a journey with her 10 year-old sister to avenge her mother’s death. 

Night Comes On, a Superlative Films production,is the feature directorial debut of actor Jordana Spiro (Ozark). Spiro wrote the script with Angelica Nwandu, founder of the popular 12+million followers blog THE SHADE ROOM, through which she was featured as one of Forbes 30 under 30 in Media and TIME’s 30 Most Influential People in the internet.
