News: Dwayne Johnson Says Jumanji 3 Is Underway

Based on the huge success of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle it was no doubt that we'd get an eventual sequel. Now, Dwayne Johnson says work is finally underway on delivering the cinematic masses a third film in the series. He posted to Instagram that the feature is officially underway. Sony Pictures chairman Tom Rothman plans to have the movie in theaters for a Christmas 2019 release to once again go head to head with the latest Star Wars movie. The last film was a surprise hit for the studio and proved to be a financial juggernaut that became their highest grossing domestic release.

Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Jack Black, and Kevin Hart are all set to reprise their roles with writer/director Jake Kasdan also reprising his creative part on the project.
