Perhaps one of the most disturbing horror films of all time, the perversity of A Serbian Film will be getting an ultimate director's cut. As a pervasive genre film that already pushed the boundaries of what most would even consider watchable, director Srdjan Spasojevic's journey into the bowels of depravity is going to have a new cut that will be five minutes longer. Unearthed Films will be in charge of the U.S. release and they have released an uncensored trailer. Apparently, there's over sixty hours of unreleased footage that will be cut into extended version for the newly edited release, along with various special features.
In advance of the, Unearthed Films held a special screening of the film that included a gallery exhibit, with props being auctioned off on eBay. eBay decided that the auction was too inappropriate and pulled it. A new auction site has been set up here. You can read the full press release below.
"As many of you know, during A Serbian Exhibition we set up an auction on eBay to sell off the original props, wardrobe items, and other memorabilia from the set of A Serbian Film .
Due to a number of complaints from small-minded people, eBay pulled the auction from its site. We argued with them about the ban for days but ultimately to no avail.
However, we have not yielded. We at Unearthed Films are opposed to all forms of censorship and we have been busy building a new auction site for horror fans.
eBay’s regressive policies may have robbed us of the opportunity to leverage the excitement generated by the A Serbian Exhibition and the screening of the newly restored version of the film but we are back with a brand new auction site and ready to do business.
No interference. No censorship.
Payments to Unearthed Films are secure and will be made via PayPal. The auction starts on Saturday, June 16th at 5:00 PM PST.
The auction will be running for FOURTEEN DAYS instead of seven, ending on June 30th, 2018. This way, it gives everyone the opportunity to participate in the auction, and so everyone knows about it again.
A SERBIAN FILM Storyboard Lottery Sale
There are a limited number of 16"x 11" original storyboard pages available for purchase (245 pages in total). All 245 pages have been signed by A Serbian Film director, Srdjan Spasojevic. The price for each will be the same - $150 per page.
The storyboard sale will start at the same time as the prop AUCTION, Saturday June 16, 2018, and will continue until all 245 storyboards have been sold or until Monday, June 30th, whichever comes first.
Each storyboard will be chosen in a random LOTTERY drawing on Saturday, July 3rd. CEO of Unearthed Films, Stephen Biro will do via video, announcing each name and picking storyboard(s) out for each person's paid order.
