News: Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles In Development at Hulu



The planned series based on Anne Rice’s The Vampire Chronicles has been put into development at HuluVariety has confirmed.

The Vampire Chronicles series is focusing on Lestat de Lioncourt, the vampire bad boy and hero. 

Paramount Television and Anonymous Content are to produce. The companies acquired the rights to the books in April. 

After Brian Fuller stepped down earlier this year, Rice will executive produce with her son Christopher Rice, a best-selling author as well. Christopher has written the original script for the project. David Kanter and Steve Golin will co-executive produce with Anonymous Content. The project is currently seeking a show runner.

The series has served as the basis for feature films in the past, 1994’s Interview With the Vampire with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt, and 2002’s Queen of the Damned with Aaliyah and Stuart Townsend.
