News: Eva Longoria Joins Dora the Explorer


Paramount's in production adaptation of Dora the Explorer, added another new cast member with Eva Longoria signing on to play Dora's mother. Isabela Moner signed on to play the title character earlier this year, with fans getting their first look at the live action adaptation earlier this month when production began. The casting of Longoria as Dora's mom, it leaves us wondering who the father will be.
The dominantly Latinx cast and the studio committed to keeping it true to the flavor of the show, with Moner joined by Adriana Barraza as Abuela Valerie, Micke Moreno as Diego and Madelyn Miranda as a young Dora. Eugenio Derbez playing a "mysterious jungle inhabitant" named Alejandro, who helps Dora and her friends. The story will follow Dora, who has spent her childhood going on several adventures with her parents, who now must rescue both her mom and dad, while solving a mystery that ties into a lost Inca civilization.
With THR reporting earlier that the movie will highlight Dora in high school, and unlike the show the parents will play a pivotal role in the story. So there we go, exciting news on the Dora front.
