Every day is full of movie news. A lot of the time it's not very exciting. But in this case of this bit of news, we fully feel the need for speed. Barring our already piqued interest over a Top Gun sequel decades later, we're not learning that the casting is going to be out of this world. Having already brought back the star of the show, Tom Cruise and Miles Teller who is said to be playing Goose's son, it looks like the production has just added two more huge names to its illustrious list of actors.
Jon Hamm (Mad Men) and Ed Harris (Westworld) have just signed on to the project according to several reputable sources including USA Today. Whether or not you're a fan of the original, it seems like they're going out of their way to make sure that Maverick is going to be another great film in the current resurgence for Tom Cruise. With Mission Impossible: Fallout still breaking records, we might be seeing way more interest in his movies again.
It was also recently reported that Jennifer Connelly has also signed on to the project in a lead role.
