News: Oscar Isaac Says The Episode IX Resistance Are Guerrilla Fighters

With the current Star Wars fandom at war with itself over how Disney has produced the last several films, Oscar Isaac has chimed in on how the Resistance will be fighting the First Order in the third and final installment of this trilogy. Going back to basics with hit and run attacks that Hux and Kylo Ren might not expect, he says that this closing chapter will now change the way they fight against the bad guys. And considering they were only a small bunch of soldiers with no fleet at the end of The Last Jedi, this doesn't seem shocking at all.

"They are guerrilla fighters, adhering closer to something like the Revolutionary War fighters or even the guerrillas in Cuba with Che and Fidel and all these guys living in the mountains, coming down to do some attacks, and going back and trying to hide from the ’empire’ of the United States. It’s that kind of ragged at this point.”

This sounds like it could be a very interesting shift. We're excited to see how J.J. Abrams once again steers the ship this time around.
