News: Nancy Drew Being Developed at The CW

Over the decades, the female sleuth Nancy Drew has seen numerous versions in book form, television, and movies with one of the last iterations being a young Emma Roberts back in 2007. Now, The CW is in the early phases of relaunching the popular character as a new TV series that will modernize her story in a weekly episodic show. Both NBC and CBS have previously tried their hand at Nancy Drew to little success. Now, with several other successful properties like Riverdale, Supernatural and Supergirl in their catalog, it looks like this will be one of their next projects.

The upcoming show is said to follow the character after she leaves high school and will chronicle her early exploits as an amateur detective. It's also rumored that they'll be borrowing heavily from the original book series.
