Horror mastermind John Carpenter has been extremely busy in the genre again as of late. He just recently recorded a brand new score for the upcoming Halloween sequel and was also an executive producer.
Now, the director is strongly hinting that he plans on returning to another one of his classic stories. Carpenter just teased that Prince of Darkness may be in the early developmental stages for a new show on the streaming service, Shudder. In a recent interview with Consequence of Sound in which he was discussing composing music for one Shudder's projects, he had something even more revealing to say. He commented, "maybe doing a show for them. What would you think about Prince of Darkness as a TV show?”
While nothing has been set in stone by Carpenter or Shudder, it's definitely an interesting idea that could use more expansion in an event series release or a couple binge worthy seasons.
