News: Killer Klowns From Outer Space Creators Hint That Something is "Absolutely" Happening With The Franchise

The Chiodo Bros. Killer Klowns from Outer Space has a devout cult following that has longed for some type of continuation or sequel for decades now. The original film was released in 1988 and it mixes horror, dark comedy, and science fiction into a strange amalgamation that continues to gain a new audience. Now, the creators say that something is definitely happening in the way of a continuation or sequel for the film. The filmmakers had quite a bit to say at Monsterpalooza regarding their Killer Klowns being the subject of revitalized interest:

“I used to say don’t hold your breath, but things have been happening right now… I would say you can hold your breath now. The success of IT recently has kind of educated some of the people in the industry that clowns are cool, clowns are scary… they’re looking at horror properties now more seriously than ever. I can say, something will be happening with Killer Klowns from Outer Space in the near future. Absolutely.”

They went on to add that they have ideas for three more films that expand on the mythology as the Klowns meet and do battle with a wide ranging set of new and old characters.

The Klowns will also be featured at Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights as part of their amazing extravaganza.
