News: Disney Looking to Reboot Pirates of the Caribbean With Deadpool Writers

Ahoy there mateys! It looks like Disney is looking to capitalize on their massive theatrical brand, Pirates of the Caribbean. While the last couple movies have been extremely divisive for fans of the franchise and didn't prove to be as sea worthy as the originals at the theaters, they're looking to get their Pirates back into cinemas with a pair of fresh writers taking over in the creative department. Screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are currently in talks with the Mouse House to revitalize the property. These two are well known for their work on Deadpool.

These two could definitely bring a new direction to the POTC series but no word has been announced whether or not Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow will be any part of a relaunched series. It might be too soon to reboot at this point considering the original was only 15 years ago. But after a successful new Spider-Man hitting just a couple years after Andrew Garfield lost his job, it wouldn't be too surprising to see Disney take this in a fresh direction. Our interest is piqued but we're not quite sure how this will work out. Stay tuned for further details.
