A24 has announced that they will release Hereditary director Ari Aster's second movie to theaters August 9th 2019. The movie, which at this point is untitled, will star Jack Reynor, Will Poulter and Florence Pugh and feature Vilhem Blomgren, William Jackson Harper, Ellora Torchia and Archie Madekwe.
Aster has described the film as Scandinavian folk horror, saying "Pugh and Reynor will play a couple that travels to Sweden to visit their friend's rural hometown for its fabled mid-summer festival. What begins as an idyllic retreat quickly devolves into an increasingly violent and bizarre competition at the hands of a pagan cult."
Back in June Ari told us, "I'm in pre-production for my next film which will be shooting in Hungary. A24 is doing that as well, and that is technically a horror film.".
So, fans of Hereditary, you certainly have something on the horizon to be excited about!
