No. Nothing in the cinematic world is sacred. Every idea ever put to film will eventually be remade, milked, then remade again for masses to sink their hard earned money into. Now, the classic '90s film Clueless has been ordered as a remake over at Paramount Pictures. The original starred Alicia Silverstone as Cher Horowitz along with a who's who cast that included Paul Rudd, Brittany Murphy, Jeremy Sisto, Breckin Meyer, and Stacey Dash. The original went on to gross $56 million against a smaller budget of only $12 million. Now, the studio has their greedy mitts on the story and want to reproduce it for a new generation.
Marquita Robinson, a story editor and writer for Glow on Netflix has been hired to update the script for the remake. Girls Trip writer Tracy Oliver has been attached as a producer. Little else is known at this point other than this doesn't need to be made.
