News: Andy Muschietti To Direct A Re-Imagined Version of HG Wells The Time Machine

Ever since his retelling of IT took the box office by storm, Andy Muschietti is quite the hot commodity in Hollywood. With part two of the Stephen King movie getting nearer to release, the director is taking on numerous new projects. Just the other day it was announced that he'd be working on a domestic version of Attack on Titan. Now, it's breaking that he and his producer sister Barbara Muschietti are readying a new take on HG Wells classic The Time Machine. Andy is set to direct the film that will also be produced by Appian Way's Jennifer Davision and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Arnold Leibovit will also be attached in a producer role. He formerly worked on the 2002 film that was directed by Simon West and starred Guy Pearce. Unfortunately, that take failed to drum up much interest. HG Wells of course wrote the other classic story, War of the Worlds. Currently, Warner Bros. holds the rights to the story and will be releasing the film.
