Galactic News: The Mandalorian Adds Giancarlo Esposito, Carl Weathers and More

The upcoming Disney streaming Star Wars series, The Mandalorian is gearing up to be quite the effort on their part. Taking place between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, it's said that the fall of the Empire will be a featured theme in this untold chapter. Initially casting Pedro Pascal as the primary character and recently adding Nick Nolte, it looks like they're on pace for something great that will expand the Star Wars universe. Now today they've released more news pertaining to who will be starring in the show and it looks to be quite a stellar few choices.

Giancarlo Esposito, Werner Herzog, Carl Weathers, Emily Swallow, and Omid Abtahi have all signed on for parts in their event series. Recently, Gina Carano also signed on in an unknown role. From what we've seen so far, Disney is taking this project very seriously, if not for the casting alone. Dave Filoni is directing the first episode with Taika Waitini and Bryce Dallas Howard also in directorial roles.
