News: Crazy Rich Asians Director to Helm Arnel Pineda, Lead Singer of Journey Biopic

Arnel Pineda has lead quite the fantastical existence. Taking over as the frontman for world renowned rock band Journey after fronting a cover band was a dream come true for the Filipino singer. Now, he can say his life is becoming even more legendary as his story is being adapted to film. While some have discounted him as a tribute band lead man, he has the pipes to deliver the goods. With the band still touring yearly, his story is being transitioned to film.

Warner Bros. has opted the motion picture and will be directed by Crazy Rich Asians director, John M. Chu. Apparently, they're already working on acquiring the rights to the original music written by Neil Schon and Steve Perry. The film is said to be a fairy tale type that will show a homeless singer becoming the frontman for one of the world's biggest bands. They've also already bought the documentary film from a few years ago, Don't Stop Believin', which told the tale of the singer's rise to fame.
