News from the Grave: Pet Sematary Producer Thinks A Prequel May Happen

After the massive success of IT a couple years ago, new movies and series are being churned out at a fast pace. With the upcoming remake of Pet Sematary looking to dig up a massive box office, one of the producers behind the film sees a future that may involve expansion on their latest movie. Although, there was only one book, we know that the original film did spawn a sequel. However, producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura seems to think that if this one is as successful as they expect, they may end up developing more background for the town of Ludlow, Maine and its mysterious cemetery. When asked about their potential future plans, he had this to say:

"I think if there’s anything here, there’s a prequel. I think if you look at the book, we didn’t cover all that stuff that happens before the Creed family moves in."
He continued:
“So, I think there’s a movie there, and I think I’d be particularly interested in doing that, because, again, it’s the source material and you are going toward something that also has a lot of crazy, creepy feelings about it.”

The remake is getting rave early reviews and currently stands at 91% on Rotten Tomatoes. If we know how the studios work, you can damn well bet that they'll be looking to cash in on more story from this property.
