Zoinks!!! News: Amanda Seyfried and Zac Efron Join Scooby-Doo Animated Movie as Daphne and Fred



Hold up a second and grab some Scooby-Snacks! because things just got really exciting in the mysterious world of Scooby Doo! Announced a few months back, the crew is getting a new animated film that will serve as a modern spin on those pesky kids! Earlier it was announced that Gina Rodriguez had joined to voice Velma, Will Forte would be Shaggy, Tracy Morgan is playing Captain Cavemen, and Frank Welker (Aladdin) would be voicing Scooby himself. Now, more casting news is hitting the web today and we're super geeked!

That's right, folks. The latest Scooby Doo movie has just signed Amanda Seyfried as Daphne. And Zac Efron will be taking on the part of Fred. This is the first time the gang has hit the screen since 2004's Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed. Also, the new film is said to bring in numerous other characters from the Hanna Barbera universe to help them save the world from Dick Dastardly. While no more is really known at this time, we think this will be a really cool revisit to a better time and will definitely feed the nostalgia machine.
