Cry Little Sister: The Lost Boys Pilot Being Retooled by CW

In a world where no classic property is sacred, The CW had ordered a pilot of a show centered on the 1987 modern classic vampire tale, The Lost Boys. However, when the pilot was ultimately shot, edited, and screened for execs at the media outlet, things were not so pretty. For all intents and purposes, the pilot was not what they expected and wasn't fully trashed but is not being used in its current format. Apparently, they're not getting rid of what's been filmed but are going back to the drawing board and reshooting much of what was set for the first episode. From what's being said at this early stage, there are serious issues that need to be dealt with. So, for now, the show is delayed until they can get a workable pilot done. The pilot was directed by Catherine Hardwicke.

This is the overview for the current pilot:

After 25 years away from home, Lucy Emerson (who is at the end of her financial rope) returns home to the small California beach town of Santa Carla, to live with her father Frank and teach at the local high school. But Lucy either doesn’t know or doesn’t share the town’s big secret with her two sons, Michael and Sam: Santa Carla has a nest of vampires secreted inside the city limits, and they are getting hungrier by the day.
