Netflix News: Dark Horse Signs First Look Deal With Netflix

With the successes of the Umbrella Academy series and the film adaptation of Polar, Dark Horse is now partnering with the massive streaming giant for a first look deal, meaning we're about to get a whole lot more comic oriented content from the pairing. The two have inked a deal that will give Netflix access to Dark Horse's catalog as well as newer projects. This also means that the comic book company will be optioning some Netflix titles to print. Obviously, this is a major win/win situation for both companies as we all know comic books based on television and movies can do very well.

The Vice President of original programming had this to say:

"Following the success of The Umbrella Academy, we’re excited to extend our relationship with Dark Horse Comics. The Netflix teams are already working in deep collaboration with Dark Horse to identify projects beyond the world of traditional superheroes — branching into horror, fantasy, and family entertainment — that we think our members will love.”

She added:

"We are very excited about this new arrangement with the talented people at Netflix. We have strong creative relationships as well as a large content library to work with and, as we have seen with our recent projects, Netflix is the perfect partner to bring our stories to fans around the world.”
