Star Wars News: The Mandalorian Already Renewed, Favreau Stays On Board

With Star Wars fans already fully geeked for the upcoming first season of The Mandalorian on Disney+, it looks like more news is hitting about the televised Star Wars show. It has been announced that season two has already been greenlit by the studio with the first chapter comprised of a limited eight episodes. In addition to the early renewal, it's been revealed that Jon Favreau will be staying on board for the second batch of episodes, serving as writer, showrunner and executive producer. Sadly though, this show will not be like most streaming shows on Hulu or Netflix. Episodes will be released one per week instead of all at once. Filming for season two is expected to remain in the Los Angeles area.

Kathleen Kennedy says that there are several more Star Wars galaxy based series on the way, with the second being the prequel to Rogue One that will see the return of Cassian Andor.
