SDCC 2019 Coverage: Shudder's Creepshow Dropping on September 26th!

At the Creepshow panel at San Diego Comic Con, show runner Greg Nicotero talked extensively about his new project and shared many stories from his experience working on the original 1982 film. Nicotero was joined by Joe Hill (son of horror maestro Stephen King) who also played the little boy Billy in the first film. Rounding out the panel was Adrienne Barbeau, Giancarlo Esposito, and Tricia Helfer.

Everyone was very passionate and excited when discussing their parts on the anthology which will be twelve stories spread over six episodes. One episode will be released per week. Apparently the budget was low and the time was short and the team had to be creative and frugal.

In addition to the trailer, we were given an exclusive sneak peek at a clip from the episode The Companion and the aesthetic was very reminiscent of the comic book tinged '80s version with the bold primary colored back lighting and what looked like lots of practical effects (which isn't surprising given Nicotero's fantastic work on the makeup effects of The Walking Dead).

This looks to be a worthy addition to the Creepshow franchise and I will definitely be checking it out on Shudder when it comes out.
